Health Care Reform 2007

Health care reform has moved to center stage in Sacramento this year as both the Governor and state legislature have introduced a number of comprehensive incremental steps towards covering the 6.7 million uninsured Californians.

Since 1994, Latino Issues Forum has supported universal health care proposals due to the tremendous barriers the Latino community faces in accessing quality, affordable health care.

This year we are working closely with advocates, policymakers and community based organizations to ensure that the needs of Latinos are met in the 2007 health expansion proposals. We have developed a set of principles with policy recommendations as well as a side-by-side chart comparing the top health reform proposals to date. Keep updated with our on-going analysis by subscribing to the Latino Unversal Health Access Network (LUHAN).
