Dear Friends and Colleagues,

With Latinos set to become California's majority during the next 20 years and with the expansion of internet and information technology use, there has never been such a need to combine research and consumer advocacy to ensure that our state is prepared to address the needs of its fastest growing consumer population.

On July 29th, 2008 the Latino Issues Forum will host the          "Building the Digital Bridge: Ensuring Equal Access to All" event at the CSU Fresno Campus. This event will feature a discussion on the Public Policy Institute of California's (PPIC) benchmark survey on Californians' access to information technology and LIF's Technology Needs & Interests survey results for the Central Valley. Two important legislative bills, Truth in Telecom Sales Act ( AB 891) and Prepaid Phone Cards (AB 2885) will also be discussed.

For more information on this event please visit: www.lif.org/events/display.asp. I hope you can join us for this exciting event.

Sincerely,
Nora E. Vargas
Executive Director
